Young Mayden offers business and employment consulting services on an hourly or project basis in several areas, including developing policies in the areas of compensation, promotions, diversity, glass ceiling issues, affirmative action and the like. During his legal career Ken Young defended several nationwide race, gender and compensation class actions, and also worked with numerous corporations to implement policies and systems designed to prevent such issues and resultant litigation. He is a frequent speaker on progressive employment practices. Barbara Mayden has been a popular speaker and author on law firm workplace issues for over twenty years. She has published articles on the legal workplace’s changing demographics as well as changes in workplace structures. Such articles have appeared in legal and other periodicals, including the Harvard Business Review. In addition, she co-authored the first comprehensive book on workplace policies for lawyers, “Lawyers and Balanced Lives: A Guide to Drafting and Implementing Workplace Policies for Lawyers.”
