After many years on the "client" side of lawyer hiring, Ken Young and Barbara Mayden came together to form Young Mayden, LLC, pooling perspectives and contacts cultivated through their law practices and long time high level involvement in the American Bar Association and other professional organizations. 

Young Mayden provides services in three distinct areas – legal search, consulting, and career counseling. Young Mayden Legal Search places attorneys with leading law firms and corporate legal departments nationwide. Young Mayden Consulting provides business and employment consulting services to law firms and law departments. Young Mayden Career Counseling offers individual career planning for lawyers.

Recent Activity

At the Annual Meeting of the American Bar Association in San Francisco in August:

-   Ken Young was re-elected as a Delegate-at-Large to the ABA House of Delegates.  His term will extend until 2013.  This marks the 21st year Ken has served in the House, which is the policy-making arm of the Association.

-  the ABA House of Delegates, at the urging of Business Law Section Delegate Barbara Mayden, supported creation of immigration mechanisms, such as the Startup Visa, whereby foreign nationals intending to form businesses can enter or remain in the United States to obtain permanent resident status in order to build such businesses. Chicago: The American Bar Association selected Jack Rives as its Executive Director. (View article) Young Mayden was pleased to assist the American Bar Association with this search.

Atlanta: Young Mayden facilitated the move across town of an Atlanta litigation partner to the Atlanta office of a Pennsylvania legacy firm.

Charlotte: Young Mayden placed an experienced environmental partner as well as a litigation associate and a bankruptcy associate with law firms in Charlotte.

Orlando: Young Mayden successfully concluded a retained search for a specialized tax partner.

New York: Ken Young has been invited to speak at the Defense Research Institute (DRI) New York seminar: Best Practices for Law Firm Profitability. Ken's program is "Should I Stay or Should I Merge?
