Ken Young and Barbara Mayden, professional and personal friends for over 25 years, pooled their experiences, expertise and extensive contacts to provide a unique vehicle in Young Mayden – access to a vast array of legal talent on a pick up the phone/first name basis.

Ken's 25 years of leadership at the ABA and with state and local bar associations has given him great perspective and a network of contacts across the country that are of great assistance when advising clients or conducting searches. It is estimated that the cost of a bad hire is several times the annual salary involved. Ken's 30 years of advising corporations on the nuances of hiring and firing and defending all types of employment litigation gives him a unique perspective in helping clients avoid bad hires. Barbara MaydenBarbara Mendel Mayden practiced transactional business law for 30 years in Atlanta, New York and Nashville, before starting Young Mayden in 2007. A leading business lawyer, Barbara chaired the ABA's Section of Business Law and was awarded the Business Law Section's "Glass Cutter Award." For over 20 years, Barbara has studied the legal workplace, published on the topic, and acted as a resource to law firms and law departments, bar associations and law schools seeking to tailor legal workplaces to the changing demographics of the legal profession, giving her a unique perspective on what will and what will not make a good fit.
